3 WAYS TO PLAY
AWTA members have three ways to participate in the Austin tennis scene - from highly competitive league play to much more social court events. Here's an overview:

WTTA LEAGUE PLAY - (Women's Team Tennis of Austin) organizes interclub weekday tennis for women throughout Central Texas. AWTA provides a way for women who aren't affiliated with a tennis club to play WTTA Leagues. WTTA League play consists of 11 flights - Championship (the highest level) through Flight 10 (for players just starting out), as well as a separate league for Seniors (55 and up). Play is Monday-Thursday for the 11 main flights; Friday for Seniors.
AWTA has been a WTTA mainstay since 1960. We field more WTTA teams than any tennis club in the area. AWTA has won the WTTA excellence award so many times that it was retired in our name in the mid 1990s. For more information, including upcoming deadlines and WTTA match regulations see the WTTA section in our FAQ.

MONTHLY EVENTS - During each membership year AWTA offers a wide array of fun competitive tennis-related events - at least one a month. These are open to all AWTA members for a modest entry fee. Included are:
several ladies' doubles tournaments, with teams that have combined NTRP ratings of 7.0 - 9.0.
an annual mixed doubles tournament, with teams that have combined NTRP ratings of 7.0 - 9.0.
three luncheons (August, December and May) where we mix a little tennis with a lot of good eats.

WEEKLY PLAYDAYS - at 9am every Thursday at South Austin Tennis Center. These are fun, social court occasions that are perfect for players who are new to the game, just coming back from a layoff or looking for other players at their skill level, typically ranging from NTRP 2.5 to 3.5.
